South Dakota Mines is coming off three straight losses, with two of those losses taking place in Rapid City. In their most recent match on Saturday, Sept. 19, they fell 3-2 to Chadron State at home, riding into Tuesday's matchup with an 0-2 home turf record

BHSU is coming off two home losses from this past weekend, falling to Chadron State 3-2 on Friday, Sept. 18, then dropped a competitive matchup against No. 19 Colorado Mines the following day 3-1. The Yellow Jackets have continually proved they can go to the bell, and they are looking to get over the hump on Tuesday night against the rivaling Hardrockers.
Tuesday night's game will mark exactly two weeks since the two teams competed against each other at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish, S.D. The Yellow Jackets battled the Hardrockers for five sets before falling short in a 3-2 loss. Dating back to 1995, Yellow Jacket volleyball holds an overall record of 48-22 over the Hardrockers.
