Men Ranked Third, Women Fifth in 2021-22 NCAA DII Attendance Report

Black Hills State men's and women's basketball both finished in the top five in attendance among all NCAA DII programs during the 2021-22 season, announced this week in the official NCAA attendance report.

The men's basketball program had the third-highest attendance numbers in all of DII, averaging 1,919 fans per game and totaling 26,868 over 14 home games.

BHSU men's basketball trailed only Fort Hays St. (2,000 fans per game) and Northern State (2,357) in attendance last season.

The women had the fifth highest attendance in the nation with an average on 1,099 per game, totaling 12,085 over 11 home games last year.

Women's basketball attendance trailed only Emporia State (1,108), Drury (1,371), Northern State (1,967) and Fort Hays State (2,184).

On both the men's and women's side, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference ranks fifth in overall attendance among all DII conferences.

BHSU continues to lead the RMAC in basketball attendance, as the men's average of 1,919 fans per game nearly quadrupled the RMAC average of 526 fans per game. The RMAC on the women's side averages only 342 fans per game compared to BHSU's 1,099 per game.
