Black Hills State University and BHSU Athletics has announced the hiring of Keighton Hatten as Director of Athletic Development and Revenue Generation.
Hatten will manage all revenue opportunities for athletics with the advancement office and assist in external operations for the Black Hills State athletic department, including development, marketing, and ticket sales.
Prior to BHSU, Hatten was a realtor for Great Peaks Realty in Spearfish for six years from 2018 to 2023, and was also the Media Coordinator at Prairie Hills Transit for 10 years from 2013-2023.
He has also served as an assistant coach with the BHSU men's basketball team during the 2013-14 season, and coached boy's basketball at Spearfish High School from 2014-17.
Originally from Windsor, Colo. where Hatten graduated from Windsor High School, he attended Concordia University Texas for three years as a member of the men's basketball team before transferring to BHSU for his final year.
As a senior, Hatten was a member of the BHSU Hall of Fame 2008-09 men's basketball team that went 30-5 and reached the NAIA DII Final Four, while also earning the Tom and Joan Finn Award.
He graduated with a bachelor's degree in mass communication from BHSU in 2013.
Hatten resides in Spearfish with his wife Kayla, who is a CNP in General Surgery at Monument Health, and three sons Jackson, Nolan and Beckham.
