Black Hills State women's soccer fell to a UCCS squad remains undefeated in RMAC play, 5-0, Thursday night.

The Yellow Jackets (3-7-2, 1-4-2 RMAC) battled the Mountain Lions (8-2-2, 6-0-0 RMAC) and the elements at Black Hills Energy Sports Complex, totaling six shots, and two on goal.

Hailey Warren led the offense with three shots, including one on goal, while Sophie Brassard added a shot on goal as well.

Also with shots on the night were Leah Day and Katy Vinton.

UCCS got on the board early with a goal in the fifth minute to take a 1-0 lead before adding on with goals in the 15th, 18th and 23rd minutes to make it 4-0 midway through the first.

BHSU toughened up from there, though, and began putting together good looks in the latter part of the first with Brassard and Warren putting up shots on goal in the 25th and 26th minutes, respectively.

Warren added two more shots in the 27th and 35th minutes, while Vinton recorded a shot in the 30th minute, but the game would remain 4-0 into halftime.

Out of the locker room, both teams were slow to start the second half as sleet began blowing around the pitch.

A trio of shots from the Mountain Lions around the 60-minute mark was the second half's only offense until UCCS found the net once more in the 86th minute. Despite efforts from BHSU in the final minutes that saw a shot from Day, UCCS went on to win by the score of 5-0.
