Black Hills State women's soccer lost to CSU Pueblo 4-0 Sunday afternoon at BHE Sports Complex.
The Yellow Jackets (3-8-2, 1-5-2 RMAC) put up double-digit shots for the fifth time this season with 10, including four on goal.
Leah Day led the team with three shots and one on goal, while
Paige Hill and
Katy Vinton had two shots and one on goal, each.
Jayda Hammer also put up a shot on goal, while
Makaiah Carlson recorded two shots.
Between the pipes,
Morgan Wood hauled in four saves on 13 shots faced.
CSU Pueblo got the scoring started with a goal in the 7th minute to jump ahead 1-0.
Teams traded shots from there with Day getting a good look for a shot on goal in the 18th minute. BHSU continued to apply pressure on offense with a shot from Vinton in the 25th minute before another shot from Day and a Hammer shot on goal both in the 28th minute.
The ThunderWolves would add on with another goal in the 36th minute and held a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Both teams came out of the locker room shooting, with Vinton and Hill putting up shots on goal just before the 50th minute. The Yellow Jackets kept pushing with two more shots from Hill and Day but couldn't find net.
In the 64th minute, CSUP knocked one in to extend to a 3-0 lead. They kept the offensive momentum over the next 15 minutes before making it 4-0 with another goal in the 80th minute.
BHSU would get one more shot up from Carlson before the final horn sounded at 4-0.

The Yellow Jackets host their final two home games of the regular season next weekend, playing Fort Lewis on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. and Western Colorado on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m.
