DENVER, Colo. – Black Hills State cross country traveled down to the Mile High City for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday morning, with one Yellow Jacket women's runner leaving Washington Park with All-Conference accolades.
WOMEN
Sylvia Brown (21:57.8) led the way for the BHSU ladies with a 20
th place finish in the women's 6k, which granted her a placement on the All-RMAC Second Team. Brown's time in Denver also marked a season-low, beating out the 6k time she previously recorded at the Roy Griak Invitational (22:26.8).
Katelyn Krieger (23:57.8) was the next Yellow Jacket to cross the finish line, placing 65
th while
Alexis Weiers (24:10.0) and
Sierra Hopp (25:00.0) followed in 72
nd and 81
st, respectively.
Norah Entzi (25:44.7) ran into 95
th place and was followed up by teammate
Evie Boyd (25:56.0), who landed in 97
th.
Rounding out the BHSU women's field was
Abigail Robberson (26:22.9), who placed 102
nd.
Adams State (21:10.6) took their third consecutive conference title by landing on the first-place podium, followed by Colorado Mines (23:30.8) in second and Western Colorado in third.
MEN
Hayden Grosz (25:50.9) led the way for the BHSU men in the RMAC Men's 8k championship, placing 51
st of the 121 total runners in the men's field.
Jaxon Straus (26.:16.0) finished second for the Yellow Jackets as he placed 64
th while
Marcos Valerio (26:26.5) and
Aydan Loya (26:26.6) finished in 69
th and 71
st, respectively.
Turner Christians (26:27.2) and
Alberto Spotted (26:36.8) placed 73
rd and 80
th while
David Standish (27:39.2) ran into 99
th place.
Justyn France (27:57.2) and
Levi Smith (27:59.7) rounded out the Yellow Jacket men at Washington Park, placing 104
th and 106
th, in that order.
The Colorado Mines (24:29.4) men's team completed their repeat campaign as they took the team victory in Denver, with Adams State (24:41.7) and Western Colorado (24:44.0) rounding out the top three in second and third, respectively.
Lincoln Fleischman and
Tim Brown traveled to Aberdeen, South Dakota on Saturday morning to compete at the Lancer Cross Country Invitational men's 8k, with
Tim Brown (25:15.4) landing the individual victory in the men's 8k.
Lincoln Fleischman joined his BHSU teammate in the top three, finishing third overall.

The Yellow Jackets will have two weeks to rest and train for the NCAA DII South Central Regional meet, which will be held in Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, Nov. 4.
