BILLINGS, Mont. – Black Hills State cross country traveled to Billings to compete in the Yellowjacket/Battlin' Bears Invite on Friday morning, with both the men and women placing third in their respective races.
MEN
The Yellow Jacket men finished the 8k race in third with a team score of 91 and an average clock time of 25:25.3.
The first BHSU runner to cross the finish line for the men was
Tim Brown (24:35.0), who placed third overall. Behind him,
Hayden Grosz (25:18.7) timed out in 13
th while
Lincoln Fleischman (25:42.5) landed 24
th.
Aberto Spotted (25:44.6) and
Aydan Loya (25:45.6) placed 27
th and 28
th, respectively, while
Marcos Valerio (25:49.1) clocked out in 31
st.
Jaxon Straus (25:54.1) completed his 8k run in 34
th while
Justyn France (25:59.9) and
David Standish (26:01.5) timed out in 37
th and 38
th.
Turner Christians (26:23.4),
Levi Smith (26:24.0),
Mason Swingholm (26:25.5),
Wyatt Ostler (26:26.3), and
Addison Red Fox (26:29.9) all finished consecutively to fill in spots 47
th through 51
st. Rounding out the Yellow Jacket men was
Caden Strasser (27:01.0), who completed the race in 61
st.
The men's field consisted of 12 teams with 106 runners participating in the race.
WOMEN
The Lady Yellow Jackets also finished third in their 5k race this morning, clocking out with a team score of 83 and averaging a team clock of 22:54.9.
Sylvia Brown led the way for the ladies as she completed the women's 5k in third, timing out with a 21:23.8 timestamp.
Katie Turpin (22:56.5) was the next Yellow Jacket to finish as she clocked out in 15
th, while
Alexis Weiers (23:08.0) and
Katelyn Krieger (23:18.3) completed their 5k runs in 18
th and 23
rd, respectively.
Down the line,
Sierra Hopp (23:47.7) placed 38
th while
Abigail Robberson (24:49.6) and
Norah Entzi (25:01.6) placed 60
th and 64
th.
Katie Knutson (25:27.9) and
Reilly Wilson (25:32.2) rounded out the BHSU ladies in 68
th and 71
st.
The women's 5k race also saw 12 teams competing at Amend Park, with 91 total runners in the race for the ladies.
