Yellow Jackets Show Fight in 0-0 Draw with Adams State

ALAMOSA, Colo. – Black Hills State women's soccer posted their second draw of the weekend, holding Adams State scoreless in the 0-0 tie Sunday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets (3-6-2, 1-3-2 RMAC) finished with four shots on the day including two on goal.

Paige Hill finished with two shots, one on goal, while Leah Day also put up a shot on goal.

Bresha Keegan had a shot in the game as well.

Between the pipes, Morgan Wood recorded a shutout while grabbing five saves in the match.

After a quiet start to the first, both teams got themselves better looks midway through the half. ASU put up a shot on goal in the 25th minute that was grabbed by Wood for the save, keeping them off the board.

Then a couple minutes later in the 27th minute, Day recorded BHSU's first shot of the day which ended up corralled by the Grizzlies keeper, keeping the game in a scoreless tie. Wood made her second save of the day on another ASU attack in the 31st minute.

The Yellow Jackets kept pressing as Hill booted a shot on goal in the 35th minute that found the keeper, and the game would continue into halftime locked at 0-0.

ASU came out of the break with a pair of quick shots, but the Yellow Jacket defense held up to keep the scoreless tie intact. Teams traded shots over the next several minutes of play, still neither team able to break through and find net.

The BHSU defense continued to battle as Wood came up with two more saves in the 75th and 78th minutes. A shot from Hill that ended up blocked in the 81st minute and an ASU shot that went wide left in the 82nd would be the last of the offensive looks as the match went on to end in a 0-0 draw.
