INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Black Hills State's cross country runners
Tim Brown and
Sylvia Brown were announced as qualifiers for the NCAA Division II National Championship races on Monday morning, per the NCAA.

At last weekend's NCAA DII South Central Regional Championships,
Sylvia Brown landed in the top-25 with a 21:19.21 personal best 6k finish, donning her All-Region honors. Over in the men's 10k race,
Tim Brown finished in 30:54.86 to place 29
th, which marked a personal best 10k run for the junior and punched his ticket to nationals.

The NCAA DII National Championships will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Missouri, with Missouri Southern State University serving as the hosts.

The women's 6k race is slated to kick off at 11 a.m. ET (9 a.m. MDT) while the men's 10k will follow behind with a 12:15 p.m. ET (10:15 a.m. MDT) start.

Thirty-four teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top three, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 24 teams. Ten additional teams were selected at-large while a minimum of 24 additional individuals were selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process.

The last DII Nationals qualifier for the women was
Xiomara Robinson in 2021, while the men's and women's teams qualified as a unit in 2018 in what was an historic season for the program. In 2018, the men's and women's squads finished 16
th and 17
th, respectively, at the national meet and saw two Yellow Jackets named to All-American status in the process.
