Women's Basketball Pens Another for 2023-24 Season

Black Hills State women's basketball, head coach Mark Nore, and assistant coach Hope Bonlander have announced an additional signing to the 2023-24 squad, adding the talents of a junior guard transfer from within the RMAC.
 
Gracie Haneborg – Guard, Nebraska, UC-Colorado Springs
Heading to Spearfish from the UCCS Mountain Lions, Haneborg is a 5'8 guard from North Platte, Nebraska and is a business marketing major.
 
Last season with the Mountain Lions, Haneborg averaged 7.3 points per tilt and three rebounds per game in 21 appearances on the court, which included 10 starts.
 
"Gracie brings experience and toughness, she loves and will compete every day for us," said Nore. "Her understanding of our league is important for our team and program. We are extremely excited to welcome Gracie to our Yellow Jacket family."
 
The newest Yellow Jacket addition also shot 44.3 percent from the field and led her team with a .350 clip from beyond the arc last season. Haneborg tallied a season high in points (18), rebounds (7), and steals (2) against Chadron State on January 3 as well as a career high in rebounds (10) against Colorado Christian on December 16.
 
During her 2021-22 campaign, Haneborg appeared in 27 games and started in 18 of them. As a freshman, she averaged 6.7 points per game and tallied 54 rebounds, 37 assists, and 27 steals.
 
The Nebraska native averaged 40.4 percent from the field, 30 percent from long range, and led the team with a 79.6 percent mark from the charity stripe. In that season, Haneborg cooked up a career high 24-point game against Colorado Christian on January 22, also knocking down 10-of-12 free throws against the Cougars in the same game.
 
A graduate of North Platte High School, Haneborg was a four-year letterwinner in basketball and soccer and left as the school record holder for most points (33) and steals (13) in a single game; made free throws (104), assists (107), and steals (118) in a single season; and the all-time leader in points (1,511), made field goals (547), free throws (331), assists (327), and steals (430) in North Platte High history.
 
She was also a two time All-Conference and two-time All-State Honorable mention, First Team All-State Class A and Second Team Super State player, a two time NCPA Award recipient, two time district champion and a one-time runner-up which includes three straight district finals appearances and two consecutive Class A state tournament appearances.
 
She graduated from North Platte in 2021 with a 4.000 GPA as a member of the National Honor Society and is the daughter of Mark and Bridget Haneborg. Her mother, Bridget, played basketball at Morningside College and her father, Mark, was a golfer at Oklahoma State.
