MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Black Hills State cross country completed their respective team races at the Roy Griak Invitational last weekend at the University of Minnesota, with the Yellow Jacket men's team landing 12th while the BHSU women's team placed 13
th.
MEN
Leading the BHSU men's squad in the Jo Rider Men's Maroon race was
Tim Brown, who completed the race in sixth place with a 25:50.9 run.
Lincoln Fleischman (25:54.3) timed out of the race in 44
th while
Marcos Valerio (27:20.4) and
Jaxon Straus (27:24.7) finished in 76
th and 80
th, respectively.
David Standish (27:25.2) completed the 8K in 81
st, with
Hayden Grosz (27:33.8) and
Turner Christians (27:44.0) rounded out the Yellow Jacket men's runners in 93
rd and 98
th.
The men's field saw 32 teams from NCAA DII and DIII conferences in attendance, with nearly 500 runners filling the field in Minneapolis.
WOMEN
Sylvia Brown paved the way for the Yellow Jacket ladies in the Suzy Wilson Women's Maroon Race on Friday morning, completing the 6k race in sixth with a 22:26.8 clock out time.
Kaite Turpin (23:45.9) was the next Yellow Jacket to cross the finish line as she finished in 43
rd, while
Alexis Weiers (24:59.7) and
Evie Boyd (25:29.3) were in tow in 106
th and 128
th.
Norah Entzi (26:57.6) and
Katie Knutson (27:27.8) were the last of the BHSU women to finish the 6K race, with the ladies taking 177
th and 187
th, respectively.
The Roy Griak's Women's Maroon race field saw 37 teams in competition on Friday, with over 400 runners competing for their NCAA DII and DIII schools.
