Black Hills State women's soccer dropped its weekend finale, 2-0, to MSU Denver Sunday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets (3-4, 1-1 RMAC) tallied six shots, including three on goal in the match.
Paige Hill put up two shots in the game, including one on goal, while
Hailey Warren and
Kayla Truong recorded shots on goal as well.
Jayda Hammer and
Katy Vinton each had a shot on the day.
Makayla Dannelly hauled in six saves between the pipes on 16 shots faced.
Teams traded shots and possessions early in the game, as quick shots on goal from Warren and Hill were both kept out of the net in the opening 12 minutes of play.
Hill put up another shot shortly after, but a Vinton shot in the 42nd minute was the only other look the Yellow Jackets would get in the first half as the game went into halftime tied 0-0.
MSUD applied pressure to the BHSU defense out of the break with shots on goal in the 48th and 50th minute before eventually breaking the scoreless tie with a goal in the 55th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
A pair of acrobatic saves from Dannelly midway through the second half kept it a one-point game until a 79th minute goal from the Roadrunners extended their lead to 2-0, which would ultimately be the final score.
