YANKTON, S.D. – In the first of two meets this weekend for the Black Hills State University men's and women's cross country program, the Yellow Jackets posted another strong showing as the men won their second race of the year with 31 points at the Mount Marty Cross Country Invitational. Pacing BHSU was
Addison Red Fox with a career-best finish of third place, the first of four top-10 runners for the Green & Gold. The women's squad did not record a team score at the Fox Run Golf Course as they only had a trio of athletes competing, however,
Katelyn Krieger ran to a career-best finish of second place, leading all three runners to top-15 finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED – MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
- Addison Red Fox led the way for the Black Hills State men's cross country team, posting his second top-10 finish of the year as he recorded a career-best finish of third place as he crossed the line with an 8K time of 25:42.36.
- Justyn France led the next trio of Yellow Jackets, as he rounded out the top-5 with a career-best finish of fifth place as he notched an 8K time of 25:51.30. Next to cross the finish line was David Standish and Braik Hurm who were neck-and-neck in sixth and seventh place with times of 26:06.87 and 26:07.23 respectively. The results were the second top-10's of the year for both Standish and Hurm.
- Rounding out the BHSU runners was Wyatt Ostler, who collected a 17th place finish in his season debut, clocking an 8K time of 27:14.79 for his second top-20 result of his career.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED – WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
- Recording a career-best finish of second place, her third top-10 finish of her career, was Katelyn Krieger who ran to a 6K time of 22:52.50 to pace Black Hills State in the race.
- Just outside of the top-10 was Sierra Hopp, who notched her third top-20 finish of the season and her second consecutive sub-24 minute 6K time as she clocked a time of 23:50.53 for 12th place.
- Rounding out the Yellow Jacket trio in Yankton was Norah Entzi, who ran to a career-best 6K time of 24:08.54 for a 14th place finish, her third top-25 finish of the year.

UP NEXT
Black Hills State will have another group of runners in action this weekend as they compete at the RMAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 26. The event will be hosted by New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico, with the men's 8K starting at 10:45 a.m. and the women's 6K starting at 11:35 a.m. at the Gene Torres Golf Course.
