DENVER, Colo. – For the second consecutive year the Black Hills State cross country programs had an all-region finisher as
Gavin Kuhlenbeck paced the men's team on a snow packed Washington Park course to their best NCAA Division II South Central Regional finish since 2018 on Saturday afternoon. In a loaded field of seven nationally ranked teams, the Yellow Jacket men placed tenth in the meet with 329 points while the women improved one spot from last season with a 13
th place finish with 399 points in a field of ten nationally ranked teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED – MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
- Leading the way for Black Hills State on Saturday afternoon was Gavin Kuhlenbeck, who ran to a 10K time of 32:18.04 for all-region honors and a 23rd place finish.
- Turner Christians, one of five Yellow Jackets making their regional debut, turned in a 65th place finish as he clocked a time of 33:51.90 at Washington Park.
- Running as the lone freshman on the team, Dominic Eberle crossed the finish line 72nd overall with a time of 34:09.98, while teammate Braik Hurm was less than six seconds behind with a time of 34:15.54 and a 76th place finish.
- Rounding out the scoring team members was Marcos Valerio who was running in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional for the second consecutive year for BHSU, posting a 10K time of 34:57.57 for 93rd place.
- Rounding out the Black Hills State runners on the day was David Standish and Addison Red Fox who recorded times of 34:58.23 and 35:09.39 respectively for 94th and 101st place.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
- Running in her second career NCAA Division II South Central Regional, Evie Boyd led Black Hills State on Saturday afternoon with a 6K time of 24:12.09 for 68th place. She led a pack of three Yellow Jackets that crossed the finish line within 12 seconds of each other as she was followed by Katelyn Krieger and Emma Hofmeister who posted times of 24:16.60 and 24:23.73 respectively for 70th and 76th place.
- Returning all-region performer Sylvia Brown was unable to crack the top-25 for the second year in a row as she ended the day at Washington Park with a time of 24:49.13 for 87th place.
- Gracie Craig rounded out the scoring runners for the BHSU as she clocked a time of 25:17.73 for 100th place and was followed by closely Alexis Weiers in 101st place who notched a time of 25:18.66.
- Rounding out the Black Hills State runners on Saturday afternoon was Abigail Robberson who recorded a time of 27:24.76 for a 149th place finish.
