SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's basketball team will step outside of regular season play for a single exhibition match-up on Monday night as they travel to Fort Collins, Colorado, to face NCAA Division I Colorado State. The Yellow Jackets and Rams are set for a 6:30 p.m. tip-off inside of Moby Arena.

BLACK HILLS STATE STORYLINES
- Black Hills State enters the exhibition game with a record of 4-3 on the year follow a 1-1 weekend at home in A2 Arena with a win over Minnesota Crookston (70-62) and a loss to Southwest Minnesota State (82-60).
- The Yellow Jackets remained in the South Central Region D2CSC Media Poll for the third consecutive week, falling two spots to a tie with West Texas A&M for No. 9 on Monday morning.
- Black Hills State has been picked to finish ninth in the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving 94 points.
- Through the first seven games of the season BHSU is averaging 66.6 points, 36.1 rebounds, 11.7 assists, 6.1 steals, and 1.9 blocks per game, while shooting the ball 42.8 percent from the field, 28.8 percent from 3-point range, and 78.5 percent from the free throw line. Their opponents are averaging 64.6 points, 32.0 rebounds, 10.3 assists, 5.6 steals, and 3.1 blocks per game, while shooting the ball 40.1 percent from the field, 40.4 percent from 3-point range, and 73.6 percent from the free throw line.
- The Yellow Jackets currently rank 22nd in NCAA Division II in fewest turnovers per game (12.9) and 24th in free throw percentage.
- Leading a pair of players in double figures scoring for Black Hills State is Kalla Bertram who scores 14.0 points per game and adds 7.9 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 1.4 assists per game. She has been efficient shooting the ball at a 48.8 percent clip on the year and has scored in double figures in five of the seven games which includes a double-double against Lubbock Christian (17 points, 11 rebounds).
- Haylee Weathersby is second on the team in scoring with 13.4 points and adds 5.4 rebounds per game. Among players who average 2.5 made free throws per game nationally, she is one of 15 players in all of DII to not miss a free throw this season, knocking down 18-of-18 at the charity stripe. She has reached double figures and has scored 12 or more points in five of seven games this year in addition to grabbing five or more boards in six contests. She poured in a season-high of 19 points in the win over UMC on Thursday evening as she shot the ball 9-of-14 from the field.
- Morgan Hammerbeck is another player to keep an eye on as she is averaging 9.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 0.7 steals per game. In Thursday's win against the Golden Eagles she scored a career-high of 27 points, shooting 8-of-15 from the field, 3-of-8 from the 3-point line, and 8-of-8 from the charity stripe. In addition to the 27 points against UMC she added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Overall, on the year she has reached double figures twice, has recorded four or more rebounds in six contests, and has dished out three or more assists on three occasions. She currently ranks 25th in the nation in free throw percentage, shooting the ball 18-of-19 from the charity stripe for 94.7 percent, and has made 11 straight entering the match-up with Colorado State.
- The lone freshman in the starting lineup for each of the first seven games this year has been Bradie Schlabs, who has averaged 8.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. She has scored in double figures in four games, including a season-high of 14 points against Northern State. The very next game she then notched her first career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds against Sioux Falls. She has secured four or more boards on five occasions, has dished out four or more assists in five games, and has tallied a steal in all seven games this year. In NCAA Division II she ranks 11th nationally in assists with 31 and is 55th nationally in assists per game.
- Yellow Jack alumna Rachel Erickson is in her first season as the head coach at Black Hills State, guiding BHSU to a 4-3 record thus far.
COLORADO STATE STORYLINES
- Colorado State enters the Monday night match-up with a record of 4-2 on the year following their first home loss of the season in an 84-80 defeat to Northern Arizona on Saturday evening in Moby Arena.
- The Rams are picked to finish third in the Mountain West Conference Preseason Poll, receiving 248 points and four first place votes.
- Through six games this season CSU has averaged 69.2 points, 36.7 rebounds, 16.5 assists, 6.5 steals, and 2.8 blocks, while shooting the ball 42.3 percent from the field, 33.1 percent from 3-point range, and 74.7 percent from the free throw line. Their opponents are averaging 55.7 points, 42.0 rebounds, 11.5 assists, 4.0 steals, 2.7 blocks per game, while shooting the ball 32.7 percent from the field, 24.1 percent from 3-point range, and 73.7 percent from the free throw line.
- The top player to watch for Colorado State is South Dakota native and Mountain West Co-Preseason Player of the Year, Emma Ronsiek. The grad student is averaging 17.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. She has scored 15 or more points in four games this year, including a season-high of 26 points in a win over Oregon State as she knocked down 6-of-11 from 3-point range. She has posted five or more rebounds in each of the last four games, starting with a double-double at BYU when she had ten points and ten rebounds. - The only other player averaging in double figures for the Rams is Hannah Ronsiek, another South Dakota native and the sister to Emma, as she has posted 11.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.2 steals per game this year. She has scored in double figures on three occasions, which included a season-high of 24 in a win over Oregon State when she knocked down four 3-pointers. Additionally, she has secured four or more rebounds on five occasions and has dished out two assists four times this year.
- Kloe Froebe is an impact freshman for CSU, averaging 7.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. The Mountain West Preseason Freshman of the Year has already earned Mountain West Freshman of the Week once on November 18, following back-to-back double figure scoring performances with 14 points at BYU and a 15 point and seven rebound outing against Columbia (Mo.).
- Ryun Williams is in his 13th season as the head coach at Colorado State, guiding the Rams to a record of 236-141 mark during his time in Fort Collins.

- Monday will mark the second-ever exhibition meeting in women's basketball between Black Hills State and Colorado State, with the Rams winning the previous meeting on November 1, 2013, by a score of 72-49 in Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colorado.
