SPEARFISH, S.D. – Black Hills State University and head coach Glen Lammers announced the fall portion of the 2024-25 Yellow Jacket rodeo schedule on Friday morning. The slate will feature four rodeos as part of the Great Plains Region in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA), including the annual Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede hosted at Seven Down Arenas.
 
The spring schedule begins with a trip to Ames, Iowa, and the Cyclone Stampede Rodeo hosted by Iowa State University in the Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center on March 28-29. The slate then shifts back to The Mount Rushmore State, starting east river as BHSU competes at the Jackrabbit Stampede, hosted by South Dakota State University in the Dacotah Bank Center in Brookings on April 11-12. Following the pair of trips east to begin the second half of the year, Black Hills State will then host the Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede at Seven Down Arenas just outside of Spearfish on April 25-26. The regular season will conclude a week later with a visit to Lincoln, Nebraska, on May 2-3 as the Green & Gold will take part in the Cornhusker College Rodeo, hosted by the University of Nebraska at the Sandhills Global Event Center.
 
Those who qualify at the end of the season will then go on to participate at the College National Finals Rodeo, hosted at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, Wyoming, on June 15-21. The CNFR will have the performance sessions from Tuesday (June 17) through Saturday (June 21) of the week broadcasted nationally on ESPN3. Additionally, the CNFR production team will produce two programs from the event with interviews, premier action, and the crowning of champions to air later in the summer on ESPNU.
