COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced their 2024 softball all-conference teams with redshirt freshman
Alyssa Wong picked up Honorable Mention recognition, the league office announced this afternoon.

In her first season in a Black Hills State uniform, Wong (R-Fr., San Antonio, Texas) stepped for the Yellow Jackets all season long – both at the plate and in the outfield. She finished the first weekend of the season in Minnesota playing at second base. In the early portion of RMAC play, she found time at designated player, before moving to right field for a stint.
"Little (Wong) was a great addition to the squad this year and showed off her versatility day in and day out," commented head coach
Ashlyn Englehorn. "She was a hot bat for us and showed consistency at the plate throughout the season."
The San Antonio, Texas native was a spark plug for the team this season. She played in 44 games for the Yellow Jackets, making 39 starts, and held the team's best batting average of .339 in 109 at-bats. She also had the team's highest on-base percentage of .415 this season, while also holding the longest hitting streak of the year with a nine-game hit streak. In right field defensively, she made numerous grabs that left the crowd stunned.
It marks the first-career RMAC All-Conference honor for the redshirt freshman.
The Yellow Jackets ended the season with a new NCAA Division II-era mark in wins with a 15-32 record, tying the best finish in the RMAC since joining the league in 2012 with a ninth-place finish (14-28 RMAC) under first-year head coach Englehorn.
