SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University cross country program will continue the tradition of honoring former student-athlete, Gage McSpadden, this upcoming weekend as they will host their collegiate and community events.

The collegiate races will be held on Friday, September 6, in Sturgis, South Dakota, at the Fort Meade Recreation Area. The women's 4K will start at 6 p.m. to kick off the event while the men's 6K will start at 6:30 p.m. to end the night.

The following day community members are encouraged to participate in the community 5K that will be held at the Spearfish City Park at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 7. Additionally, prior to the 5K, a kid's race will be run at 8:45 a.m. to start the morning's events. Registration is $20 for adults, and free for any BHSU students with a student ID and kids 12 and under. Â All proceeds will benefit the scholarship endowment in memory of Gage McSpadden.
