DENVER, Colo. – The Black Hills State University women's soccer team fell on the road by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon as the 2025 season came to a close against Regis at the Regis Turf Fields. The Yellow Jackets were able to strike first in the seventh minute as
Katy Vinton moved into the top-5 in program history in career goals (5) and points (15), while the assists by
Whitney Hansen and
Bailey Smith brought the team's season point total to a school record 52, but a strong Ranger attack broke through with a pair of late first half goals and an early second half goal for three unanswered as they secured a 10-win season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Black Hills State struck first in the contest with the first shot attempt by either team, as Bailey Smith's throw in found Whitney Hansen as she moved the ball over to Katy Vinton, who then fired the ball into the top-left corner of the net. The goal moved her into the top-5 all-time in program history in career goals (5) and points (15), while the double assist bought the Yellow Jackets' season point total to 52, breaking the school record for a second consecutive year.
- Zoe Wiggall made six first half saves, keeping the Rangers off the scoreboard until late in the opening half as they racked up ten shots, six shots on goal, and six corner kicks. RU broke through and evened the game in the 32nd minute as Fernanda Rodriguez found the back of the net from the top of the box. Regis then took a 2-1 lead in the 35th minute as Brooke Castillo worked her way into the right side of the box.
- The Rangers added their third and final goal of the game with a goal by Natalie Bunch scored off an assist from Rodriguez in the 63rd minute. The final shot on frame on the match for the Green & Gold occurred quickly following the goal by RU, as Aubri Roth sent a shot towards the bottom center of the net in the 64th minute.
- Regis held the advantage in shots (22-5), shots on goal (12-2), and corner kicks (10-1), while Black Hills State held the edge in saves (9-1).Â
