Myles Johnson was named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon as the Yellow Jackets improved to 5-1 this season. Among the top defenders in the league, he currently ranks second in the conference in steals per game and is one of three Yellow Jackets in the top-15 in blocks per game, currently ranking 12
th through six games this year. The weekly award is Black Hills State's first in men's basketball since the 2023-24 season.

- Led No. 23 Black Hills State to a 2-0 weekend at the Dakota Challenge, defeating Minot State (72-65) and UMary (85-74).
- He averaged 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game, while shooting the ball 10-of-16 (62.5%) from the field and 1-of-2 (50.0%) from 3-point range.
- He recorded his fifth straight double figure scoring game to begin the season against Minot State, scoring 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field and 1-of-2 from 3-point range. Against the Beavers he added five rebounds, all defensive.
- Defensively, he matched a career-high three blocked shots against UMary, and he recorded his third multi-steal contest with a pair against Minot State.
