SPEARFISH, S.D. – After a 2-0 start to the league schedule with dominant victories over South Dakota Mines (104-76) and Chadron State (90-67), the Black Hills State University men's basketball team once again moved up a pair of spots in the National Association of Basketball Coaches' (NABC) Division II Men's Basketball Top-25. The Yellow Jackets appear at No. 19 in Tuesday's release of the third regular season poll, making a two spot jump from No. 21 a week ago, as they have now won five consecutive games to improve to 7-1 (2-0 RMAC) this season. The Green & Gold currently rank ninth in NCAA Division II in effective field goal percentage (59.0%), 12
th in field goal percentage (51.2%), 13
th in assists per game (19.1), 18
th in defensive rebounds per game (30.0), 21
st in assist/turnover ratio (1.53), and 27
th in scoring margin (+15.3).
The Yellow Jackets continue to be the lone Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) team to be ranked or receiving votes, and again are one of five ranked or receiving votes in the South Central Region as Lone Star Conference foes Lubbock Christian appears at No. 4, St. Mary's is No. 7, West Texas A&M is No. 8, Â St. Edward's is No. 14, and Eastern New Mexico is receiving votes.
Black Hills State is set for their final two RMAC games of the calendar year this week, hosting UCCS on Thursday, December 11, and Colorado Christian on Saturday, December 13.
