INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The Black Hills State University women's basketball team is ranked seventh and is one of four schools from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) to be represented in the second release of the NCAA's regional rankings which will determine the teams selected to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament this March. The South Central Region is comprised of just two conferences, the RMAC and the Lone Star Conference, which will have their conference tournament champions receive automatic bids while the remaining six spots will be selected on an at-large basis.
In today's release of the South Central Regional ranked the top teams one through ten. BHSU is ranked just ahead of RMAC's Adams State, who the Yellow Jackets play tomorrow. The bracket for the 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament will be revealed on Sunday, March 9, during a selection show on NCAA.com.
Hosted by the top team in region, the South Central Regional will be played March 13-16 as the eight teams will compete for a spot in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight that will be played March 24-28 at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
With only two weeks remaining in the regular season the Yellow Jackets boast a record of 16-9 (12-6 RMAC) and are tied for third place in the league standings.
