Three Yellow Jackets Named CSC Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, IND- The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2025 Academic All-District recipients for the sport of women's basketball on Tuesday morning, recognizing the student-athletes' success on the court and in the classroom. Among the recipients were three BHSU Yellow Jackets: Kalla Bertram, Morgan Hammerbeck, and Gracie Haneborg. Each of these girls are receiving the honor for the first time in their careers. In addition, Bertram and Hammerbeck has been selected to advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 16, 2025.

Bertram, who was All-Academic Honor Roll in 2022-23, finished with a 3.77 GPA, while majoring in exercise science. She finished the season averaging 14.2 points per game and 6.6 rebounds a game while shooting 43.8 percent from the field (154-352). She had double-digit points in 22 of 29 games this season and scored 15 or more 17 times. She reached career highs late in the season when she had 28 points versus Adams State and 12 rebounds versus Westminster. She had four double doubles this season versus Lubbock Christian (17 points, 11 rebounds), Chadron State (19 points, 11 rebounds), CSU Pueblo (17 points, 10 rebounds), and Westminster (13 points, 12 rebounds). She was named Second Team All-Conference and First Team Academic All-RMAC for her performance this season on and off the floor. 

Hammerbeck, who is a two-time All-Academic Honor Roll nominee, finished with a team high 3.92 GPA while majoring in Business Administration. She averaged 11.3 points per game, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. She led the team in threes going 52-162 (32.1 percent) from behind the arc and averaged 1.8 threes per game. She also led the team in free throw percentage with a 76.9 percent clip. She hit multiple shots from behind the arc in 17 games this season and reached double-digit in 17 games as well. She had her first career double-double against South Dakota Mines when she had 18 points, and 12 rebounds. The 12 rebounds were a career high. She also hit her career high in points with 27 against Minnesota-Crookston earlier this season. She earned Second Team All-RMAC and First Team Academic All-RMAC for her performance.

Haneborg had a 3.69 GPA while majoring in Business Administration. She started all 29 games for the Yellow Jackets, while averaging 6.6 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game. Haneborg came alive on the glass late in the season finishing with six or more rebounds in 12 of the last 15 games. She recorded two double doubles this season versus Regis (13 points, 13 rebounds), and in the RMAC Tournament opener versus CSU Pueblo (16 points, 15 rebounds). The 16 points and 15 rebounds were each career-highs. 

School's athletic communication staffs are allowed to nominate up to four student-athletes for a spot on the CSC Academic All-District® list. To be eligible individuals must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50 in their academic career and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
