SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University men's and women's cross country program and director of track & field/cross country Brian Medigovich announced their 2025 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The slate will feature up to six meets, starting with three regular season meets, followed by the conference championship, regional meet, and a potential trip to the national championships.

The season will once again begin just down the road at the Fort Meade Recreation Area in Sturgis, South Dakota, as Black Hills State will host the tenth annual Gage McSpadden Memorial Invite on Friday, September 5. The women's 4K race will get things underway at 6 p.m., while the men's 6K race will start at 6:30 p.m. to kick-off the season. Two weeks later the Yellow Jackets will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska, for the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational, as the University of Nebraska will host a men's 8K and a women's 5K race on Saturday, September 20.

The month of October will begin with the Green & Gold traveling east of the Mississippi River to Romeoville, Illinois, for the Lewis Crossover on Saturday, October 11. The Flyers, who last year brought in 36 schools for the nationally prominent race, will host a men's 8K and a women's 6K. The month will then conclude a few weeks later on Saturday, October 25, with the RMAC Championships, hosted by UCCS in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The distances for the conference championship will be a men's 8K and a women's 6K race.

The Yellow Jackets will look to punch their tickets to the national championships at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional at the Walking Stick Golf Course in Peublo, Colorado, on Saturday, November 8. The season will then come to a close as the NCAA Division II National Championship will return to Kenosha, Wisconsin, and the prestigious Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course on Saturday, November 22. This will mark the fourth year that Parkside has hosted the DII championships, however, Yellow Jacket alumni may be familiar with the course as it hosted the NAIA Cross Country Championships from 1976-2002, 2007, and 2008. Both the NCAA regional and national championship will feature a men's 10K and a women's 6K race.
