SPEARFISH, S.D.- The Black Hills State Yellow Jackets were unable to grab an upset win versus the UCCS Mountain Lions as the fell to UCCS in three sets and dropped their fourth straight match. BHSU was able to get another good performance out of
Izzy Saiki, but got behind early in two of the three sets and couldn't come back.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UCCS took the opening point of the match, but BHSU went on a 6-0 run with four different players getting four kills and Saiki getting an ace to go up 6-1, however UCCS immediately responded and went on a 19-8 run to go up 20-14 in the set. BHSU got three straight points to cut the lead to three, but a 5-1 run by the Mountain Lions ended the first set and gave them a 1-0 lead.
- UCCS started the second set off on a massive run to capitalize on the momentum from the first set and took an early 13-5 lead, but BHSU battled back and went on an 11-4 run. The run was a balanced attack with Saiki leading the way with three kills to make it 17-16. UCCS got their rhythm back and won eight of the next 12 to take the second set 25-20.
- UCCS had the early 7-4 lead before two Zoie Husman aces helped BHSU tie it at seven. The score remained tied at eight and nine. At 9-9, UCCS went on an 12-5 run to make it 22-14. Izabel Abril had two kills and a block in a 4-0 run to cut the lead to four, but the Mountain Lions got three points in a row to win the set 25-18 and the match 3-0.
