Yellow Jackets Back in Top-15 in NABC Top-25 Poll

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team made another jump up of three spots in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Top-25 Rankings on Tuesday, moving back into the top-15 at No. 14. The Yellow Jackets once again won a pair of games last week, defeating Adams State (79-69) and New Mexico Highlands (85-77) on the road to run their win streak to five games and for their ninth win in the last ten outings. The pair of road wins and with help around the league last week, the Green & Gold found their way back into the top spot of the conference standings and have the opportunity to win their second outright RMAC Regular Season Championship in program history with two wins this upcoming week.

The Yellow Jackets remain among the top statistically in the nation in several different categories, including ranking second in NCAA Division II in defensive rebounds per game (29.38), is third in effective field goal percentage (58.3%), is eighth in assist/turnover ratio (1.54), is tenth in both assists per game (18.2) and 3-point percentage (39.2%), is 11th in 3-pointers per game (10.6), is 12th in field goal percentage (49.7%), is 16th in scoring margin (+13.9), is 18th in free throw percentage (77.2%), and is 19th in rebound margin (+6.9).

The Yellow Jackets are the lone team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) to be ranked or receiving votes and are one of six ranked or receiving votes in the South Central Region as Lone Star Conference foes Lubbock Christian is No. 9, Eastern New Mexico is No. 12, Dallas Baptist is No. 23, and St. Edward's and Western New Mexico are receiving votes.

Looking to claim a conference title on their home court, Black Hills State is back at home for the final week of the regular season as they host Westminster at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, and Colorado Mesa at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, in A2 Arena. Both games will be streamed live on the RMAC Network and will be available on KDSJ Radio. Additionally, the games will be broadcasted on linear tv on KNBN-2 (Rapid City) and KSFL (Sioux Falls).
