HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- In the top of the first inning, Carly Reyes Mims walked to lead off the game. A one-out single by Sammie Kaufman-Warner moved her to second. Caylee Mann hit a grounder to the third basemen who muffed the fielding play and then overthrew the first basemen, which allowed Reyes Mims to score from second and both runners to advance a base as BHSU took a 1-0 lead.
- After a pretty easy top of the first inning, BHSU came back up in the top of the second and Fouras reached on a fielding error by third base. A sacrifice bunt by Lily Simmons moved her to second, and Reyes Mims knocked her in with a double. A two-out single by Kaufman-Warner scored Reyes Mims to make it 3-0 BHSU.
- In the bottom of the second, Tayler McCombs singled to leadoff the inning and scored on a two-out double by Laynee Case before a pop-out ended the inning making it 3-1.
- With two outs in the top of the third inning, Alyssa Wong was hit by a pitch to put a runner on. Fouras followed that up by immediately hitting a two-run home run just over the outfielder's glove and making it 5-1 BHSU.
- No one scored for three half innings as Kaitlyn Geschwill continued to pitch well. She got two easy outs in the bottom of the fourth, before allowing a hard-hit double to McCombs and a two-run home run to Laynee Case, who remained the only two players to have a hit in this game to that point. They cut the lead down to 5-3.
- No one scored in the fifth inning. Jessica Melendez started the sixth inning with a triple, only her second of the year, to put her in great position of getting some insurance runs on the board for Geschwill. That happened on a double by Kaufman-Warner to give BHSU a 6-3 lead. Caylee Mann hit a single to score Kaufman-Warner and made it 7-3. Besides a walk in the sixth inning, Geschwill got the other six batters out as she held on to win, and BHSU got a crucial game one victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- UCCS was the one who got the scoring started early this time. Jennavieve Goldsworth got her first hit of the day to lead off the bottom of the first. She stole second, advanced to third on a groundout, and scored on a groundout to make it 1-0 UCCS.
- Carli Maley immediately tied it up with a leadoff solo home run in the top of the second to make it 1-1.
- Things got a little scary for BHSU in the bottom of the second when McCombs singled to lead it off and then stole second and third base. She then scored on a sacrifice bunt by Halley Redd, who made second on a bad throw by the pitcher. She then stole third as well. Laynee Case walked and stole second to put runners on second and third. With two outs, Goldsworth singled to score both runners and make it 4-1. Paige Goodell took over and got the last out to end the inning.
- Goodell allowed a home run in the top of the third to the leadoff batter before settling down and getting the next two batters out with the third being called out for leaving first base early after hitting a single.
- Despite getting runners in scoring position early in innings, BHSU could not get a run across the plate until the top of the sixth inning when the floodgates finally broke open. After no runs scored in the previous two innings, Maley and Fouras both reached-on errors with Maley going to third on the second one. Wong doubled to score Maley and moved Fouras to third, which made the score 5-2 with the tying runner at the plate. Delaney Milanowski came into pitch hit and for the second time in her last three at bats, she hit a ball over the fence. This resulted in a game tying three-run home run.
- After Goodell, who had only allowed three singles since that home run, went 1-2-3 in the sixth, BHSU came back up in the seventh inning with a chance to take the lead. Mann was hit by a pitch, Maley hit a bunt single that got past the first baseman's glove to move the pinch running Brooklyn Theiler to second with no outs and a passed ball moved them each up a base. Audrey Fouras, once again came up clutch and hit a two-run double to make it 7-5. Despite more baserunners, no more runs scored.
- In the bottom of the seventh, Goodell shut it down with one of the easiest 1-2-3 innings we've had this season to give BHSU another clutch win.
