LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the results of the 2025-26 Creative & Digital Design Contest on Wednesday, which saw Black Hills State University's Athletic Communication Office recognized with 17 awards, the most of any school in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). The national contest recognizes the work of athletic communication individuals across all divisions of college athletics, with the University Division encompassing all of NCAA Division I and the College Division including all of NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Canadian Institutions, and two-year colleges. In total, the Yellow Jacket staff saw six projects place in the College Division category, five place in the Best of Division II category, and six place in the Best of Student Workers category. Additionally, there were three first place awards for the Green & Gold in the Best of Division II and Best of Student Worker categories.
The CSC Creative & Digital Design contest once again saw significant growth with an increase in participation of 18.7 percent from last year to 2,565 total entries this year. Of the 2,565 entries, 1,585 were in the College Division, and 173 were in the Portfolio Contests. Furthermore, there were a total of 711 entries in NCAA Division II. The number of places awarded for each contest was determined by the number of entries in each category.
"I couldn't be more excited for our group," exclaimed Alec Schoof, director of athletic communications. "Josh, Jaydn, and Katelyn have done a tremendous job of helping our office produce quality content on a daily basis, and it showed with them being recognized on the national stage. CSC continues to showcase the top talent in our industry, and I'm thrilled to be able to help our students be able to build their portfolios and hit the ground running in our field of work."
In the photography contests, Josh Hall received three awards, all of which were in the Photographer of the Year Portfolio Contest. His portfolio was first place in the Best of Student Workers category and was second in both the College Division and Best of Division II. Also in the photography contests, Jaydn Anderson received seven awards, three of which were in the Photographer of the Year Portfolio Contests and four of which were in the Photo of the Year Contest. Her portfolio earned third place in the Best of Student Workers category, was fifth place in the Best of Division II category, and was tenth place in the College Division. In the Photo of the Year Contest, her photo of Cameron Goods tight roping the sideline in Black Hills State's football game against New Mexico Highlands earned first place in the Best of Division II category, third place in the Best of Student Workers category, and fifth place in the College Division. Additionally, her photo of BJ Woodruff driving to the rim for a layup against New Mexico Highlands earned tenth place in the Best of Student Workers category. In the videography contests, Katelyn Krieger received three awards, one in the Videographer of the Year Portfolio Contest and two in the Video of the Year Contests. Her portfolio earned first place in the Best of Student Workers category, and in the Video of the Year Contest her video recap of the 2026 Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede Rodeo earned second place in the Best of Student Workers category and 14th place in the college division.
In the poster design contests, Alec Schoof received four awards. His designing of the Yellow Jackets' Fall Sports Schedule Poster earned second place in the Best of Division II category and third place in the College Division, and his design for the Yellow Jackets' Winter/Spring Sports Schedule Poster earned fifth place in the Best of Division II and sixth place in the College Division.
