SPEARFISH, S.D. - The Black Hills State University women's soccer team puts their undefeated record on the line in their toughest test of the season thus far as they travel to Golden, Colorado, to face the back-to-back defending RMAC Champions in (RV) Colorado School of Mines. The Yellow Jackets who have had a historic start to the season, have been one of the toughest opponents for the Orediggers in recent years, being one of just two teams to hold them to a single goal in each of their last two meetings, which included a 1-1 draw in Mines' first-ever game as the No. 1 team in the nation in 2024. While early in the conference schedule, the teams square off in a 7 p.m. kickoff at the Stermole Soccer Stadium in a marque match to help build momentum for the remainder of the season.

BLACK HILLS STATE STORYLINES 

• Black Hills State enters the weekend with a 5-0-2 record following a 4-0 win over New Mexico Highlands and a 3-1 win over Adams State to begin RMAC play. 
• The 2026 campaign has already been a historic one for the Yellow Jackets, who are undefeated through seven matches for the first time in program history, have already set the single season wins record with the last victory over ASU, and are 2-0 to begin league play for the first time ever. 
• On Tuesday, Black Hills State entered the IWSOC South Central Region Coaches' Poll at No. 10. 
• In just seven matches, BHSU has already broken their team's single season goals record (19), tied the single season assists record (18), and have broken the single season points record (56). 
• Through seven games this season, BHSU holds a 19-5 advantage in goals, an 18-5 advantage in assists, a 56-15 advantage in points, a 114-82 advantage in shots, a 49-32 advantage in shots on goal advantage, and a 27-25 advantage in corner kicks. 
• Defensively since the start of the 2025 season, the Yellow Jackets have posted eight shutouts and held opponents to one goal or less in 18 of 25 matches. 
• The Yellow Jackets have had two players earn RMAC Player of the Week honors thus far in 2026, as Ivy Agee was named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week on September 22, and Rian Barthel was named the RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week on September 8. Prior to the start of the 2026 season, the Yellow Jackets had only two prior RMAC Player of the Week honors in the programs ten years of competition. 
• Against Sioux Falls, Agee scored her first career goal to start the scoring for the season, becoming the fourth freshman in program history to score the opening goal of the season for the Green & Gold. She joins Katie Nielson (2016), Jayden Judy (2017), and Emma Avery (2021). 
• Agee, who leads the RMAC and is tied for second in NCAA Division II, has scored a school record nine goals thus far in 2026. She currently has scored a goal in five consecutive matches and has three multi-goal performances thus far. She adds one assist for a school record 19 points on the year that ranks second in the conference and tied for sixth nationally. 
• Boysen enters Friday's match having found the back of the net in two consecutive games and in four of the last five matches. She currently is tied for second in program single season history with five goals, needing just one to take sole possession. Her three game-winners are not only a school single season record and tied for the most in a career in program history but are tied for the most in the RMAC and eighth in NCAA Division II. She adds one assist for 11 points, tied for the third most in a single season in BHSU history. 
• The pair of Agee and Boysen are currently the leading goal scoring duo in the RMAC with a combined 14 between the two of them. 
• Zoe Evans has added a pair of goals, while Samantha Nunez, Aubri Roth, and Kalissa Weich have each scored once. 
• Kylea Becker holds the school's single season assist record and is tied for the career record with seven entering the weekend. Her seven assists lead the RMAC and are tied for fourth in NCAA Division II. She has tallied three multi-assist games this year. 
• On the back line of defense, Evans, Daniela Rodriguez, and Ellie Talich lead the team with 576, 464, and 448 minutes played respectively thus far. 
• Rian Barthel started and played the entirety of all seven matches thus far in 2026, which has seen her make 27 saves and allow just five goals. She posts a 0.71 goals against average and a 0.844 save percentage. Capturing her third shutout of the season this past weekend against New Mexico Highlands, she became the program's career complete game shutouts record holder with seven in her collegiate career. 
• Hutchison is in his fourth season as the head coach of the Black Hills State program, guiding the Yellow Jackets to a 15-32-13 mark during his tenure. Overall, in his collegiate coaching career he enters year eight with a career record of 26-75-21 after four prior seasons at Presentation. 

(RV) COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES STORYLINES 

• Colorado School of Mines enters the weekend with a record of 5-1-1 (1-0-0 RMAC) following a 3-1 victory at Fort Lewis to begin league play last Sunday. 
• The Orediggers, who were tabbed the favorite in the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll after back-to-back league titles the last two years, is currently receiving votes in the IWSOC Coaches' Top-25 Poll and is No. 4 in the South Central Region. 
• Across all divisions of NCAA women's soccer, Bella Campos is the nation's active career leader in goals (58) and points (136). In 2026 the reigning RMAC Player of the Year has found the back of the net eight times and has assisted on five goals for a league leading 21 points. Her 21 points are tied for third in NCAA Division II, while she is tied for fifth in goals and 11th in assists. 
• Allyson Townsend and Bella Torres are the only other players to score multiple goals this year with three and two respectively. 
• Gaby Guerrero and Lindsay Jeans are the only other players to assist on multiple goals this year, also with three and two respectively. 
• The Oredigger defense is led by 2025 First Team All-RMAC selection Natalie Rouse who has played all 630 minutes of the season. The defensive unit has been a part of one shutout and four matches where they have surrendered just one goal. 
• True freshman Brekyn Davenport-Murrish has started all seven matches this year, making 12 saves and allowing nine goals. She is averaging a 1.29 goals against average and a 0.571 save percentage. 
• Kevin Fickes is in his 17th season as the head coach at Colorado School of Mines, leading the Orediggers to a 263-45-46 record during his career. 

SERIES HISTORY 

• Friday marks the 11th all-time meeting on the soccer pitch between Black Hills State and Colorado School of Mines, with the Orediggers holding a 9-0-1 advantage in the series. 
• The teams last met in Spearfish at the Black Hills Power Sports Complex on October 3, 2025, as Mines earned a 1-0 victory. 
• The last time the teams met in Golden, Colorado, it was an 8-0 victory for the Orediggers on September 29, 2023.
