SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- The Yellow Jackets were able to get some revenge on the UMary Marauders, who they lost to just one week ago. BHSU split the two games today with that win and a loss to USF.
Zoie Husman had a massive game two, tying her career-high in kills with 17 and then helping BHSU set a D2 era record for hitting percentage in a single match with a .452 team attack percentage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zoie Husman started the day off with a kill and the match started off with six straight kills with three from each team. USF immediately went on a 5-0 run to make it 8-3 before BHSU went on an 11-5 run to take their lead back at 14-13 with three aces and two kills from Carsyn Mettler and Izzy Saiki. This immediately woke USF up and they went on a 12-3 run to take the set 25-17.
- BHSU took the first two points of the second set with a kill from Mettler before Sioux Falls got four in a row to make it 4-2. A Â 4-1 run by the Green and Gold made it 6-5. Sioux Falls got four of the next seven to tie it up at 9-9 with Mettler sitting at two kills on the set and Saiki and Husman each getting a kill a piece. This was the closest the match got as Sioux Falls went on a nearly perfect 16-2 run to win the set 25-11 and take a 2-0 lead in the set.
- USF looked to end this quickly starting the third set with two aces in a 4-0 start. The Yellow Jackets started to get things figured out and went on an 12-5 run with Carsyn Mettler getting two kills and Husman getting an ace and a kill which got them a 12-9 lead. The Cougars got five straight points to take a 14-12 lead before BHSU took six of the next ten with another kill and an ace by Husman as BHSU took a 20-18 lead. Sioux Falls grabbed four straight out of a timeout to take a 22-20 lead and then the Green and Gold got two in a row on a service error and then a service ace to tie it at 22. A point for each team tied the game at 23 and then USF was able to get two in a row to take a 25-23 win and take the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Yellow Jackets went on an 8-5 run to begin the game. Izabel Abril had three kills and a block in that run. Each team then had two back-to-back point wins and that helped BHSU remain in a 12-9 lead. After a UMary kill, the Green and Gold went on a 4-0 run that included a fourth straight kill by Zoie Husman and kills by Peyton McLeod and Mianna Cardenas to make it 16-10. UMary answered back with six points in nine points to make it 19-16. A 6-4 run by the Yellow Jackets gave them the set win with two more kills and an ace from Husman.
- The second set was one of the most back-and-forth sets of the season. The second set had ties at one, two, three, five, six, eight, nine, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 as neither team could build a gap. Husman had three kills in the first half of the set. BHSU finally broke it open a bit with a 4-0 run to make it 19-15 thanks to kills from McLeod and Mettler. The set went back to going to back-and-forth as both teams won six of the next 12 points and Husman had three kills, Saiki had two kills, and Abril had another one to make it 25-21 with BHSU going up 2-0 in the set.
- UMary grabbed the opening point of the third set, but after that it was all BHSU. The Yellow Jackets went on a 6-0 run that turned into a 10-2 run to give BHSU a 10-3 lead early with Saiki having three kills in the run. The Marauders was able to get a couple points back in a back-and-forth middle of the set as they brought it back to 15-10. An 8-4 run with two kills from Saiki and Mettler brought BHSU within two points of the win at 24-13. UMary was able to get three out of four to get to 16 points, but a kill by McLeod ended the game.
