Black Hills State Volleyball Loses Final Home Match Of The Season

Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University volleyball team lost in five games to rival S.D. School of Mines tonight at the Donald E. Young Center.  Despite a strong start, the Yellow Jackets were unable to keep consistent momentum throughout the match and would eventually lose by scores of 25-15, 21-25, 29-27, 20-25, and 11-15.

The Yellow Jackets were led early in the match by junior middle hitter Kylee Lamb.  Lamb was unstoppable early through the first three sets and would finish the game with 21 kills on 29 attempts with just five errors. Black Hills State tallied more kills, a better hitting percentage, and more assists than the Hardrocker attack.

Black Hills State also stated more digs than their opponent with a total of 86. Freshman libero Kelsey Olson led the team with 25 digs to her record.  Sophomore outside hitter Amy O'Neill also recorded 13 digs to her name.

The Yellow Jackets will now travel for their final two regular season matches as they take on former DAC opponents Dickinson State and Minot State. Friday's game against Dickinson will begin at 7 p.m. MT. Saturday's match against Minot State is slated to begin at 7 p.m. CT.
