Point Lookout, Mo. – The No. 5 Black Hills State University men's basketball team played its final game of the season today, falling to the No. 12 seed Davenport (Mich.) 78-74 in overtime.
The Yellow Jackets led for most of the first half behind the play in the post position from senior forwards Will John Johnson and Luke Enos.  However, a late run by the Panthers gave Davenport a 32-28 lead at the half.
In the second half, Black Hills State continued to rely on their big men in the post offensively.  The Yellow Jackets outscored their opponent in the second half 35-31.  The game was tied at 63-63 at the end of regulation.
It was in overtime that Davenport was able to grab a small lead on the shoulders of Nathan Cox.  Cox finished the contest with 26 points and sealed the Yellow Jackets fate by hitting two key free throws in the final seconds.  The Yellow Jackets were unable to finish down the stretch as the ball seemed to bounce the way of the Panthers.
For Black Hills State, Johnson was 10-of-14 from the floor, 4-of-5 from the charity stripe, and finished with a team high 24 points.  Enos also carried a bulk of the offensive load for the finishing the game with 23 points and seven rebounds.  Cain Atkinson was the only other player for Black Hills State to score in double-figures.  Atkinson finished the game with 10 points.
Black Hills State ends the season at 27-6 overall.  The Yellow Jackets were the regular season and tournament champions in the Dakota Athletic Conference.
