GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Playing No. 23 Colorado Mesa University, the Black Hills State University volleyball team fell in straight sets Friday night in Grand Junction, Colorado.
The Yellow Jackets, who were coming off a hard-fought five set victory Thursday night, fell by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-20.
The 23rd ranked Mavericks overpowered the Yellow Jackets, getting 39 points on kills, led by 12 with Melisa Hess.
Danielle Torpey led the way for Black Hills State with seven kills while Brynn Eckhardt had 22 assists.
The Yellow Jackets will look to get back in the win column with a 3 p.m. match at Fort Lewis on Saturday.
