SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University golf team tees off its spring season March 27 and 28 in Billings, Montana, at the Yellowjacket Spring Invite at the Lake Hills Golf Club.
The Yellow Jackets closed out the fall portion of their season in 11
th place at the RMAC #2.
Kiley Phares led the way with a two-day 165 and a tied for 30
th.
Ashlyn Pearson tallied a 173 for 46
th while
Hayley Franke placed 63
rd with a 185.
Madison Hand had a six-shot improvement from round one to round two and a two-day total of 190.
Taylor Miles finished with a 234.
The fall season concluded with Phares leading the Yellow Jackets with an 89.14 shot per round average. She also owns the three lowest rounds of the year for BHSU. She shot an 83 in the first round at the Mustang Invite and an 86 and 87 shots per round at the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invite.
Black Hills State added
Nellie Enderby, a transfer from Rocky Mountain College and a Spearfish native, to the roster after the fall season. Enderby was named First and Second Team All-Conference her freshman and sophomore campaigns. Rocky Mountain won the conference championship her freshman year.
BHSU also recently added Morgan Tomchuk to the roster.
Following the Yellowjacket Invite, Black Hills State heads to Grand Junction, Colorado, April 17 and 18 for the Maverick Spring Invitational.
