The reigning Wyoming Class 4A State Champion is headed to Spearfish as Doran lands his second Wyoming state champion in the past two years. Brown shot 80 and 79 over the two rounds to capture the title. The 79 was the only sub-80 round by any player in the tournament and it helped lead Evanston and Head Coach Jerry Carroll to their second straight state championship. She finished sixth at the Class 4A State Championship in her junior year. Being the captain of each of those state champion teams, Brown earned All-State and All-Conference honors in each of the two years. She was also named All-Conference in her sophomore season. Brown ended up winning 12 total tournaments over her career including the conference tournament last year as a Red Devil. Academically, she is ranked #1 in her class with a 4.0 GPA. Brown is the daughter of Jennifer and Jesse and the sister of Braxton, Ryker, and Hendrix. Her dad Jesse played four years of golf at Westminster University. Her brother Braxton played for sone year at Northeast Community College, while Ryker is currently a freshman golfer at University of Wyoming.
Coach Doran's Thoughts: "Very excited to have Maddie joining our program next fall, she is a very talented and accomplished golfer. She participated in the AJGA National Tournament as a member of Team Wyoming, alongside current BHSU freshman Shelbi Gardner, she was the 2024 Wyoming 4A individual state champion this year, so she is used to playing in big tournaments and the pressure that comes with it. But it is all of the things outside of golf that makes Maddie the perfect fit, an exceptional student, a very humble yet uplifting personality, she is going to be a great teammate. Again, just thrilled to welcome Maddie and excited for her and her family to be joining our BHSU Golf Family."
