SPEARFISH, S.D. – Select members of the Black Hills State University track and field teams are set to compete at the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls, S.D., this weekend.
Most recently, the Yellow Jackets competed at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships. The men's squad finished seventh, while the women were eighth. BHSU finished with two Conference Championships, and three other podium finishes during the three-day meet.
Whitney Scott won the pole vault, while
Lia Guigui took first in the high jump.
Tristan Hepp finished second in the high jump and third in the 400 meter hurdles, while the men's 4x400 meter relay team was second with a new school record.
Scott, Guigui, and
Tristan Hepp will all make the trip east for the Relays, joined by Hepp's 4x400 relay teammates
Brian Kjerstad,
Garrett Snook, and
Taylor Hepp. Also competing this weekend will be
Alexandra Richards, who finished fourth in the javelin and eighth in the pole vault at the RMAC Championships, and
Jordyn Huneke who also earned points in the pole vault.
Nicole Allerdings and
Cailey Roth round out the Yellow Jackets on the women's side this weekend.

Also participating in a track and field meet this weekend will be
Bryce Boser, who is traveling to Dickinson, N.D., to compete in field events.
Following this weekend select members of the Green and Gold will compete at Last Chance Meets before the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held May 24-26, in Charlotte, N.C.
