XC: Jordan Theisen Earns Second Team All-RMAC Honors

Grand Junction, CO – Jordan Theisen led the Black Hills State University men's cross country team with his 19th place finish at the RMAC championships. His time of 24:47 in the 8 kilometer (5 mile) race is not only a personal best, but it earned him second team All-RMAC honors. The men's team ended up in ninth. Xiomara Robinson was the first Yellow Jacket across the line in the women's 6 kilometer taking 32nd to lead the women's team to eighth place.

Despite gradual, but long, inclines that turned sections of the race into a mental grind, 14 members of the travel squad all recorded personal bests.

Abbie Fredrick was second for the Green and Gold, finishing just seconds behind Robinson in 34th. Next across the line was Kelsey Van Den Hemel in 49th with a time of 22:42. Eight seconds back was Ruby Lindquist in 54th with a time of 22:50. Rounding out the scorers for the Green and Gold was Mayson Hudyma. In her first RMAC XC championship appearance she ran a time of 23:50, good for 75th. Right behind was Erica Dykstra, also competing in her first RMAC XC championship, her 23:57 time was good for 77th. Nicole Allerdings fought through a tough race and finished 94th with a time of 24:28.

For the men, Keith Osowski was the second Yellow Jacket across the line, he ran 25:20 for 40th place. Freshman Collin Brauer had a huge impact on the team today, being the third Yellow Jacket to finish in 52nd place with a time of 25:40. Coming back from illness was Jake Iverson who took 70th in a time of 26:07. The final scorer for BH was Noah Bordewyk, competing in his first RMAC cross country championship. He was 73rd in 26:13. Chase Smith toed the line for the first time in three years, his last cross country race was RMAC's 2016. He ran 26:34 good for 86th place. Clay Johnson rounded out the Green and Golds top seven cracking the top 100 finishing in 98th with a time of 27:08.

The Green and Gold Harriers will next be in action at the NCAA South Region Championship in Canyon Texas in two weeks time. Here they will be vying for a bid in the National Championships.
