COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Alex Wiley has been named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic First Team, while five other Yellow Jackets were named to the Honor Roll, the RMAC announced Wednesday.
Wiley, a native of Mesa, Arizona, has a 3.936 grade point average as a double major in chemistry and physics. The senior pitcher has struck out 21 batters in 63.0 innings pitched. She is 3-12 with a 7.89 ERA. She is also a leader at the plate, sitting second on the squad with a .346 batting average this season. She has hit nine doubles, one home run, and has recorded 14 RBI, which is also second on the team. This is the third consecutive year that Wiley has been named to the RMAC All-Academic First Team.
Kindall Bethke, Samantha Gill, Darian Gottfried, McKayla Perry, and Morgan Smith all made the Honor Roll. Bethke, a junior social sciences major, has a 3.333 GPA. Gill has a 3.422 grade point average as a senior in exercise science. Gottfried is a sophomore, and has a 3.821 GPA in PE Education, while Perry, a chemistry major, has a 3.455 as a sophomore. Smith, a senior math education major, holds a 3.616 grade point average.
Smith is on the Honor Roll for a third consecutive year, while Gill has made the team for a second year in a row.
Colorado Mesa senior pitcher McKenzie Surface was named the RMAC Academic Player of the Year for the third consecutive year.
