Black Hills State Volleyball announces the addition of right-side hitter Shannon Nelson for the 2020-21 season.

Shannon Nelson - Right Side Hitter 

Nelson is a right-side hitter from Sioux Falls, S.D., who is transferring to BHSU from Briar Cliff University. Nelson attended Roosevelt High School for her high school career. During high school Nelson averaged 5 kills a game as a senior, 8 kills a game as a junior with a game high 21 kills vs Sioux Falls Ogorman. Nelson was awarded a varsity letter in volleyball 3 years in high school and was named to the All-Conference team her junior and senior years.

"We are excited to have Shannon transfer to BHSU and join our team starting in January," said Head Coach Kristin Carmichael. "Shannon brings a unique offensive weapon to our team being a lengthy left-handed hitter. It was clear on her visit that Shannon's personality and work ethic will fit in well with our team culture. We look forward to adding another South Dakota talent to our roster and we can't wait to see how Shannon contributes to our program."
