Women's Golf Adds Two for 2022 Season

Black Hills State women's golf and head coach Craig Marsh are pleased to announce the addition of two more student-athletes as members of the 2022-23 signing class.
 
The women's golf program has signed Jessica Folchert from Ogallala, Neb. and Lola Homiston from Dickinson, N.D. with both student intending to join the team for the fall 2022 season.
 
Jessica Folchert
Jessica joins the Yellow Jackets from Ogallala, Nebraska where she golfed at Ogallala High School. Throughout her freshman year of high school Folchert shaved 20 strokes off her game from her first round to her last round of the season.
 
In her sophomore season Flochert worked her way into the varsity line up for a handful of tournaments and was a member of the Conference Championship team. Folchert was named as an alternate to the Ogallala High School State team her sophomore year as well.
 
As a junior Folchert was named to the varsity squad and placed 10th as an individual at the district tournament. Jessica also competed as an individual at the Class C State Tournament.
 
Throughout her senior year Jessica earned a personal best round shooting an 88. Folchert helped her team to a conference runner-up and helped her team take a play-off win at the district tournament which earned the team a spot in the Class B State Tournament. Folchert also made the Class B State Tournament as an individual.
 
Throughout her time in high school Folchert earned a 3.99 GPA and was ranked in the top 20% of her class. Jessica was named Academic All-State in golf her junior and senior years. Folchert is the historian of the National Honor Society and the President of the Spanish Honor Society. Jessica plans to major in Applied Health Sciences with hopes to become a surgical nurse.
 
Lola Homiston
Lola joins BHSU from Dickinson, North Dakota where she competed at Dickinson High School. As a freshman Homiston held a tournament scoring average of 95.4.
 
As a sophomore Lola held a tournament scoring average of 89.5. Homiston earned a spot in the West Dakota Regional Tournament placing seventh with a score of 87. Lola also qualified for the Class A State Tournament her sophomore year.
 
In her junior season Lola held a tournament average of 83.9 and was named a team captain. Homiston earned a spot in the West Dakota Regional Tournament placing fourth with a score of 81. Lola qualified for the Class A State Tournament in her junior year as well. Throughout her junior season Homiston was fourth in All-Region for scoring and sixth in All-State Scoring.
 
As a senior Lola was named team captain and earned a tournament average of 81.9. Lola placed seventh in the West Dakota Regional Tournament with a score of 83. Homiston again qualified for the Class A State Tournament as a senior placing sixth with a score of 80 on day one and 75 on day two. As a senior Lola was nominated for North Dakota Senior Player of the Year and was sixth in All-Region Scoring.
 
Throughout high school Lola accumulated a 4.04 GPA and is ranked in the top 3% of her class. Lola plans to major in Biology or Business as BHSU.
