Black Hills State softball and head coach
Aubrey Voboril have announced seven signees for the 2023 season.
The seven include three from Colorado, and one each from Nebraska, Wyoming, Nevada, Alaska.
"Our goal was to bring in a versatile and strong group of young women and that is exactly what we did," said Voboril. "Each of them has the ability to step in and make a difference for this program.
"They are obviously successful in their areas but are all more than capable to play the college game in their secondary positions and are strong at the plate as well. All seven play the game hard and we can't wait to see what their future holds here at Black Hills State University."
Sydney Barner
Barner is a standout 5-9 middle infielder from North Platte High School in Nebraska. She has accumulated several honors in her time there, including Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska Second Team and All-State Class A First Team in 2020 and 2021, and honorable mention in 2018 and 2019.
She was also named Lincoln Journal Star Super-State Second Team and All-State Class A First Team in 2020 and 2021, and honorable mention in 2018 and 2019. Barner was named GNAC All-Conference in 2018 while leading the team to a conference championship, and 2019 as she helped the team win the conference championship.
In 2019 she set her high school single-season record in hits with 61, and doubles (17) as she went on to be named Max Preps Player of the Year. In 2020 she set single-season records again in hits (65), as well as home runs (15) and runs (55).
Kailey Bond
Bond is a 5-8 right-handed pitcher from Pueblo County High School in Colorado. During her high school career, she totaled 128 strikeouts in the circle while batting .415.
As a team captain her senior year, she helped lead her team to a State Championship in 2021 while being named First Team SCL and CCGS All-State. Her senior season she struck out 102 batters with an ERA of 3.25, while hitting .454 on offense with six home runs.
Malaya Coleman
Coleman is a pitcher and shortstop from Roosevelt High School in Colorado. In the circle, she has totaled a 3.30 ERA over her four years with 33 wins, and 310 strikeouts over 345.1 innings in 67 appearances.
Offensively, she has accumulated a .476 batting average and 1.301 SLG with 152 hits, 35 doubles, 12 triples, seven home runs, 90 RBI and 27 steals.
Audrey Fouras
Fouras is a 5-8 middle infielder from Jackson Hole High School in Wyoming. Although her school didn't have a softball team, she played for the travel team, the Utah Cruisers after playing American Legion from seventh grade through her freshman year.
Most recently in the fall of 2021, she hit for an average of .576 with eight home runs, 34 hits and 30 RBI for a 1.254 slugging percentage. Prior to that she his .558 in the summer of 2021 and .391 in 2020.
Shylee Moxey
Moxey is a 5-7 middle infielder out of McQueen High School in Reno, Nevada. She has been named First Team All-League Infielder and Second Team All-League Utility Player.
During her high school career, she has accumulated a .389 batting average and .436 OBP with 70 hits, 18 RBI, 57 runs scored and 28 steals to go along with a .902 fielding percentage.
Malia Ogee
Ogee is a 5-10 catcher and first baseman from AJ Dimond High School in Anchorage, Alaska. Most recently in her junior year she hit .480 and slugged .820 with 48 hits, nine home runs, 39 RBI, six steals while throwing out 16 runners on the basepaths.
She's been named First Team All-Conference, All-Tournament and All-State in 2021 while also earning as a member of the AK Krush, Offensive Team MVP and the 2021 Medford Classic Umpires Catcher Award. In 2019 she was named First Team All-State and All-Tournament as well as Second Team All-Conference.
Alexis Rodriguez
Rodriguez is a 5-8 pitcher and outfielder out of Castle View High School in Castle Rock, Colo. She was team captain for the 5A CHSAA State Tournament qualifying team and is a three-year letterwinner.
Rodriguez has twice been named CHSAA First Team Academic All-State and was named the team MVP as well as Second Team All-Continental League. Her career totals include a .363 batting average with 12 doubles, five triples, 32 RBI, 60 runs scored and 20 stolen bases. In the circle, she has a 4.10 ERA with 145 strikeouts and a .260 batting average against.
