PUEBLO, Colo – Black Hills State women's golf competed in the first round of the Sam Proal Invite on Monday morning, finishing the first day of competition in 12^th place.
 
The Yellow Jackets (369, +81) were led by Ava Kalanek (88, +16), who finished the first day in a six-player mix for 49^th. Cami Langley (90, +18) landed right behind her teammate in a six-way tie for 56^th.
 
Katie Jorgenson (95, +23) landed with four other golfers for 71^st while Lola Homiston (96, +24) stands alone in 75^th.
 
Rounding out the BHSU team was Madisen Jarrett (99, +27), who finished the first round in a tie for 79^th.
 
Leading the women's field at the Pueblo Country Club was Texas A&M International (302, +14), followed by Midwestern (309, +21) and South Dakota Mines (318, +30) in second and third place, respectively.
