RIVER FALLS, Wis. – Black Hills State rodeo wrapped up its weekend at the Falcon Frontier Days Rodeo with several strong performances.
The women's team placed first at the event while
Haven Jones was named Women's Reserve All-Around. The men finished second while
Austin Madison won the Men's All-Around.
Women
In Goat Tying,
Karli Verhulst led the way, placing first with a 14.2 on two, followed by
Haven Jones in second with a 14.4 on two, and
Cashae McGee in third with a 14.5 on two.
Emma Ohm placed fifth with a 15.2 on two.
Tessa Caspers placed first in Breakaway Roping with a 5.8 on two, while
Kashlin Bettelyoun came in fourth with a 6.8 on two and
Tayla Thorstenson was sixth with a 15.9 on two. Jones finished sixth in the long-go with a 3.2.
In the Tie-Down Roping,
Swade Reis finished second in the long-go with an 11.8.
Men
Tie Down Roping saw
Austin Madison lead the Yellow Jackets with a third place finish and a 24.1 on two.
Luke Mavity finished fourth with a 25.9 on two and Riley Staten was sixth with a 28.4 on two.
Madison also finished third overall in Steer Wrestling with a 23.4 on two.
In Team Roping,
Riley Staton placed second with a 16.9 on two,
Luke Mavity came in fifth with a 22.0 on two, and
Clayton Backhaus was sixth with a 23.1 on two.

The Yellow Jackets will head to North Platte, Neb. this weekend, for a double rodeo running from Thursday, Sept. 14 to Saturday, Sept. 16.
