COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The Black Hills State Yellow Jackets were unable to pull of an upset on the road as they drop their fourth straight RMAC matchup to the UCCS Mountain Lions 3-0 at the Gallogly Events Cener in Colorado Springs. The Jackets made it into the 20s in one of the three sets, but were unable to pull a set win and fell in the match,
Ellie Thomas had a fantastic match with 17 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UCCS started the first set on an 11-2 run that included five BHSU attack errors and three service aces. A Randi Wellhoefer kill and an ace by Sydnie Tuioti-Mariner helped BHSU go on a 3-1 run to cut the lead to 12-5 before UCCS won four straight points to make it 16-5. The Yellow Jackets went on a big run of their own going on a 10-4 run to make it 20-15 with two blocks from Jaeda Davis-Golliher, an Ellie Thomas ace, a kill by Emily Freeland and Wellhoefer, and four UCCS errors. The Mountain Lions would make it 23-16 with a 3-1 run before BHSU won six of seven with two kills by Davis-Golliher and another Thomas ace to make it 24-22 before Nicole Martin ended it with a kill to win 25-23.
- After BHSU took two of the first three points to begin the second set, UCCS would go on a 16-5 run to make it 17-7 UCCS. Freeland and Wellhoefer would each get a kill to cut it to 17-9 before the Mountain Lions would win five of the next six to make it 22-10. Carsyn Mettler and Peyton McLeod would each get a kill in a 3-0 run to make it 22-13 before Kinley Gomez would get back-to-back kills to win the set 25-13 and give UCCS a 2-0 advantage.
- BHSU was the team who started set three hot going on a 9-4 run to begin the set with kills from Wellhoefer, Davis-Golliher, Mettler, and Freeland. UCCS would go on a 4-1 run to make it 10-8 before BHSU would answer with a 5-2 run to get the score to 15-10 with Davis-Golliher getting a kill and a block. The runs ended their for BHSU as UCCS went on a 15-3 run including winning six in a row to end the set at 25-18 and take the match 3-0
