- Each team recorded only one shot attempt on target in the first half, with Day taking the ball from midfield on a quick transition attack and firing a shot attempt towards the left side of the net in the 29th minute, and Rian Barthel making the save in the 34th minute on a header by Brooklyn Broaderick for MSU Moorhead.
- Barthel made her second save of the match in the 48th minute and then proceeded to lead the Yellow Jacket defense to stopping back-to-back Dragon corner kick opportunities in the 51st minute.
- The Green & Gold's first shot attempt on target in the second half came from Bria Sargent in the 53rd minute, and then they proceeded to ramp up the pressure late with Ally Boysen notching back-to-back shot attempts on goal in the final two minutes or action. The first was a fast break attempt towards the bottom right corner of the net from the top of the box, and the second forced the MSUM keeper to make a diving save towards the bottom left side off the net, which saw the ricochet come back out to Jayda Hammer, who's shot ultimately went wide left with just over 30 seconds to play.
