FARGO, N.D. – The Black Hills State University indoor track and field track and field teams competed at the Bison Open in Fargo, N.D. on Friday and Saturday.
The Black Hills State women's distance medley relay team placed first. The team, made of
Abbie Fredrick,
Brittney Marosok,
Cailey Roth, and Xiomara Robinson earned the victory in 12:37.25. Fredrick took third in the mile run (5:08.32).
Alexandra Richards finished second in the high jump with a height of 5'3".
In the men's heptathlon,
Ryan Olsen placed fourth with 3626 points. Olsen won the 60 meter dash in 7.52 seconds, as well as the long jump (20'4.25") and the 1000 meter run (2:49.28). He also placed second in the shot put (34'10.25") and the pole vault (11'9.75"). Â
Allan McDonnell won the high jump with a height of 6'6.75". He also placed eighth in the long jump.
Jonah Theisen took first in the mile (4:15.15), while Jake Iverson was third (4:17.51).
Taylor Hepp placed second in the 400 meter dash (49.52).
The Yellow Jacket 4x400 meter men's relay team earned a victory. The team, made up of
Garrett Snook,
Justin Thorstad,
Mark Fruechte, and
Taylor Hepp, finished in 3:25.68.
Black Hills State next competes in the Jackrabbit Classic. The meet, held in Brookings, S.D., will be held on February 9 and 10.
