Spearfish, SD – The Black Hills State University Golf team is excited to announce the addition of Ashtyn Swigart for the 2020-21 season.
 
Swigart, of Miles City Montana, competed for Custer County High School where she was the captain of her team all four years. She garnered MVP four years in a row, made All-Conference four years in a row, and was All-Atate her junior and senior year. In her junior year she won the KATL athlete of the week, and the Peterson Memorial Award. She also participated on the Team Montana Alberta Cup winner in 2019.
 
The four time Academic All-State plans to major in Elementary Education.

It's really important that they love the game," said head coach Kelly Welker. "It was easy to see Ashtyn's passion for the game of golf throughout her recruiting process-something she's always had since she started playing golf at a young age. Ashtyn is a proven player at the high school level who will only get better over the next four years. She has a fundamentally sound golf swing and is a solid putter. Her excellent work ethic will only help continue to build our culture in a positive way. We are excited for Ashtyn to make an immediate impact on our program."
