Spearfish, SD – Head volleyball coach
Kristin Carmichael is pleased to announce that Alexis (Lexi) Trowbridge is transferring from Eastern Wyoming College to join the Yellow Jackets for the 2020 season.
Trowbridge is originally from Cheyenne Wyoming where she competed at Cheyenne East High School. During her prep career, she helped bring her team to four state tournament appearances and three straight state championships from 2014-2016. Her team was the only Wyoming team to ever be ranked and get to compete in Arizona at the Tournament of Champions. Their first year in Arizona they placed 25th (2016) and the second year they placed 100th (2017). She served as captain her senior year of high school in 2017. She was also named All- Conference her sophomore season (2015) and senior season (2017) of high school. She also holds the school record for career assists with 1884.
While at Eastern Wyoming College, Trowbridge earned the All-Tournament Team award at the NJCAA D1 level at the Region IX tourney.
Trowbridge comes to BHSU to earn a degree in Business Administration with the ambition of working for a non-profit organization.
"Lexi is a natural jump setter with great tempo," said Carmichael. "She has a consistent precision to her sets and takes great pride in setting her hitters up for success. She's very athletic, scrappy defensively, and uses her serve as a weapon. We look forward to adding her experience and competitive nature to our team, and can't wait to see what she can do as a Yellow Jacket."
