SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University rodeo teams are set to travel to North Platte, Neb. For a double rodeo at Mid Plains Community College this weekend. The first rodeo will be September 12-13, and the second will take place September 13-14.
The Yellow Jacket women enter the weekend in first place in the Great Plains Region after one rodeo completed in the season.  They hold the first place ranking in two events – Tayle Brink in breakaway roping and KeAnna Ward in goat tying. Wacey Brown and Cashae McGee check in at number two and number three, respectively, in barrel racing.
On the men's side, BHSU sits in fifth place in the region. Tayte Goodman is ranked third in saddle bronc riding, while Collin Palmer is sixth in tie down roping, and Riley Hannum is seventh in steer wrestling.
Following the double rodeo in Nebraska this weekend, the Yellow Jackets will have an off week before competing in the Iowa Central Community College Rodeo September 27-28.
