Rodeo Wraps Up Fall Season at Blue Hawk Stampede

DICKINSON, N.D. – Black Hills State University Rodeo concluded its 2020 fall schedule at the Blue Hawk Stampede hosted by Dickinson State University this past Thursday-Saturday.

The rodeo consisted of two rodeos, a single long go on Oct. 1-2 and a long go/short go on Oct. 2-3. The rodeos wrapped up the fall season for the Yellow Jackets.

First Go (Thursday-Friday)
Women
The Women's Team ended with a first-place finish in the first rodeo with Tayle Brink receiving the All-Around buckle. In the breakaway, Brink placed second, Sydney Theobald was third, and Emilee Pauley finished seventh.

In goat tying, Brink finished second while Savana Johnston and Karli Verhulst tied for third place.

Taylor Hanson snagged first in the barrel racing with Brink following in seventh. Johnston ended the rodeo sixth in the team roping.

Men
The Men's Team finished in third place with Daycen Hunt winning the All-Around buckle. Hunt placed first in the team roping with his partner Riley Hannum. Also placing in the team roping was Riley Staton in seventh.

In the tie-down roping, Collin Palmer placed first with Tanner Fite following in fifth. Hunt placed sixth in the steer wrestling.

Second Go/Short Go (Friday-Saturday)
Women
The Women's Team ended the season with a first-place finish at the final rodeo with Pauley taking home the All-Around. In the goat tying, Brink ended in second, Verhulst finished fourth, and Cashae McGee and Pauley tied for sixth.

Hanson took the win in the barrel racing with Theobald placing fourth. Courtney Peters won the breakaway roping.

Kassidy Caspers and Brooklyn Hanson received sixth place in the team roping.

Men
The Men's Team finished the season in second at the rodeo. Palmer placed second in the tie-down roping with Tanner Fite ending up fifth.

Chandler Comfort placed second in the team roping. Hunt snagged a fifth-place finish in the steer wrestling.

Fall Season Standings
Women
At the end of the fall season, the women sit in first place in the Great Plains Region with Brink leading the All-Around. Hanson leads the barrel racing standings with McGee in fourth, Pauley in fifth, Theobald in sixth, Brink in 12th, Jordan Hanson in 13th, and Brooklyn Hanson in 14th.

In breakaway, Brink sits in third with Tayla Thorstenson in fourth, Chanci Kraft in seventh, and Peters in eighth.

For goat tying, Brink holds the third spot, Verhulst in fourth, Riley Donnelly in seventh, Johnston in eighth, McGee in nineth, and Pauley in 10th.

Johnston also holds the 13th-place spot in team roping.

Men
The men sit in fifth at the end of the season. Palmer holds the second spot in tie down with Staton following in eighth and Fite in 12th.

On the heel side in team roping, Mason Bice sits second, Comfort in fourth, Hannum in 12th, and Fite in 15th.

On the head side, Hunt holds 12th and Dalton Magilke sits 15th. Tayte Goodman sits fourth in saddle bronc riding.
